COACH JAY
Jason “Coach Jay” Shoopak is the heart and soul of the Ninja Academy of Martial Arts. Affectionately referred to as the “Kid Whisperer” by families throughout Pinellas County, Jason founded NAMA in order to combine his passion for martial arts with his strong desire to shape the lives of kids. Born and raised in St. Pete, Coach Jay started training in martial arts at the age of 5. He achieved a first degree black belt in karate, a second degree black belt in Chen To On Shoulin Kung Fu, and a blue belt in Jiu Jitsu, while also studying Muay Thai. He has been a martial arts instructor for over 8 years and studied education and psychology at St. Petersburg College. He is a graduate of the National Outdoor Leadership School, ran a leadership kids camp at the Costello Center, and enjoys sharing his passions as a motivational speaker. A self-proclaimed “Kid at Heart”, Coach Jay is happiest when he’s surrounded by his students.
COACH JED
Jed Leon has been a student of Coach Jay's since 2014. As a gifted athlete, he has excelled in multiple disciplines and is excited to share his passion for martial arts with his students. The second eldest of 5 brothers, Jed is a natural with kids, chaos, and fun.
MS. KRISTIN
Ms. Kristin is a wonderful member of our team. As our After School Martial Arts director, she's committed to providing our students with the skills and tools necessary to continue their learning journey on and off the mat.
MR. RICK
Since joining our team, Mr. Rick has brought a fresh perspective approach to their position that has inspired innovation throughout Ninja Academy of Martial Arts. Mr. Rick helps with After-care, Driving, and teaching. He is an invaluable member of NAMA, and we are happy to have him.
